Made In The USA

Please go and take a look at this blog:

Photobucket

It features items that are made in the USA and I am honored to be working with Dena on this. I have featured three items from Nevada, all of which are really good quality items.

In addition, Dena is running a competition here, so go check it out!

Women, Know Your Place!!

As you have probably noticed, my theme is that of the Retro Secretary, which is an era when a secretary was considered to be nothing more than an airheaded tea fetcher. Of course, she did have a brain but it was highly unlikely any of her suggestions were used and if they were, they were probably hijacked by a man who claimed them to be his own ideas. How times have changed! This clip from English comedian, Harry Enfield, makes me think of what it might have been like:

Hmm, good job I wasn't around in the 50's!

And the winner is.....

Dena!!!!

Congratulations Dena, you get me for 25 hours, to use and abuse and be your beck and call girl. Well, not a call girl, I am not that type of person!

Please make sure you go over and congratulate her at her blog!

And just so you know, Kathy over at Mama's Losin' It picked the winner, not me. I was going to have the SITS girls do it, but Tiffany entered and Heather is going away for the weekend, so I had to go in another direction. Resourceful...hmmm, should add that to my resume!

Last Day to Win!

Today is the last day of the competition folks, so go here if you want to enter to win. Remember, you get 25 hours of my time free! And to those that asked, long distance relationships work very well and it is what a virtual assistant is all about.

I look forward to working for my new boss soon!

A Little Competition

Thinking about hiring that personal assistant but want to make sure you get your moneys worth? Well I am having a contest and the prize is your very own personal assistant for one month, free of charge! You will win “me” for a maximum of 25 hours to assist you with any projects that you may have. And if you have a publication that needs designing and creating, you will make me very happy because I would almost do anything like that for free, competition or no competition. Almost….!

All you have to do is leave a comment stating why you need a personal assistant, post about the competition over at your blog and then link back to it here.

The competition closes July 18th and once it is over, I will tell the SITS girls to pick a random number between 1 and however many comments there are, and that will be the winner! By the way, the SITS girls don't know that I have volunteered them to do this yet, so here's hoping they won't say no!

On your marks, get set, comment!

Credit

I just want to give a mention to the lovely Burg who worked very hard on my beautiful blog page to come up with this great design. And I have promised her when I become a millionaire, she will get much of the credit! So now you have to hire me not only because I am brilliant at what I do, but also so that I can give Burg a shout out when I am rich.

About You

You’re working way too hard. Really, you are! Who has time to type a report, to balance the budget, to organize that business trip and find the right hotel for your luxurious stay in Paris…...Texas! You should be using your time to close deals, high five the boys when you score that new client and leave all the day to day running around to your PA. Me!

Seriously, do you really think you have time to do all the mundane things that turn into long, laborious tasks that consume your days? I didn't think so. I know you really want to get that new brochure published, but are you going to pay a graphic designer too much money and end up then having to find a printer to reproduce it? Designing and being creative is my forte, I absolutely love it! Yes I know, you picture me at my 1950's typewriter, my fingers red from having to hit the keys so hard just to get the letters to appear on the paper, but that is not my only talent you know. I have created beautiful newsletters, glossy brochures, elegant letterheads. I can do it all!

A Little Q&A!

What Makes A Good Personal Assistant?
Putting all the necessary skills aside like typing, computer knowledge, able to speak coherently when you answer the phone!, a good personal assistant really needs to have the confidence in themselves and the job they are undertaking, as well as giving 100% to their boss, or client.

For me, honesty and integrity are really important, and I’m not just saying that to look good. If someone asks me to do something that I have an issue with morally, I am pretty honest and tell them why I can’t do it. And if that means I lose a client, so be it. But why would you want someone to work for you who felt comfortable with an unethical task and was happy to lie?

What Is Your Favorite Task To Undertake?
Anything that gives me the freedom to design something and be creative. I have to say, I love creating things like newsletters, brochures, designing letterhead and such. I have a lot of fun with it and I don’t see it as a chore, I really really enjoy it!

What Is Your Least Favorite Task?
Filing. Without a shadow of a doubt. It is the dullest, most time consuming task on the planet. Unfortunately, it is something that needs to be done. Nearly every job that I have gone into in my 21 years as an assistant, I have had to set up a new filing system and organize everything. Sometimes that is better than going into a job and having to use the existing filing system, but when you are faced with mounds of files that need organizing, it doesn’t really want to make you do a happy dance now does it?!

Do You Think A Personal Assistant Should Make Themselves Available 24/7?
No. Because then I would be your wife and would cost you way more than I currently charge! When you get a really great personal assistant (like me!), you start to rely on them so much that sometimes, you begin to ask them to do things that cross the boundaries and turn the happy assistant into a resentful one. Like running your personal errands. Getting an oil change for your car. Picking up your dry cleaning. Taking your kids to school, or even worse still, attending events for your kids that you should be at! Use your personal assistant for what he or she is there for, not for the things that you just can’t be bothered to do for yourself!

Why Should Someone Hire You?
Easy. I am the best! Seriously, I am. I love what I do; I am fantastic at it and take an enormous amount of pride in my work. If you want your life to be easier, all you need is me.

Welcome

As my profile states, I am an assistant extraordinaire (not a hooker as my friend Bitsy thinks I sound!). Really, I am. I have perfected the art of kissing butt to the biggest idiots in the business, the crazy, the weird, the strange, the nice, the too nice and you need to back off before I get that restraining order buddy! Yes, I have had every kind of boss imaginable in my 21 years of assisting directors, vice presidents, CEO's and the like and to be honest, I have loved every minute of it. Well, almost every minute of it. You see, I'm really good at what I do. I can't organize my house, but I seem to be able to organize everyone else just nicely.

So, what can I do? Glad you asked. Here are just a few samples to whet your appetite:

• Contract Administration
• Office Management
• Proposals
• Correspondence
• Word Processing
• Excel Spreadsheets
• Writing
• Manuals and Transcribing
• Design and Customize Documents and Forms
• Newsletters and Brochures
• Proof Reading
• Copy Editing
• Data Entry
• PowerPoint Presentation
• Schedule Appointments
• Reminder Service
• Coordinate and Plan Meetings, Travel Arrangements, Seminars and Events
• Manage Vendor Accounts

So my question to you is, why spend money on an office, employee benefits, expensive equipment and workers comp (because you know that assistant is going to leave the drawer on the filing cabinet out one day on purpose), when you can have little ole me? I have great rates, great references and if you need regular assistance, you will definitely get a discount.

What are you waiting for, hurry up and hire me!
